You need to see Pom Pom Squad’s badass video for “Heavy Heavy” | #Music

Pom Pom Squad recently caught my attention in some random Spotify playlist and after seeing their glossy, superficial name I was expecting the most glistening bubblegum pop imaginable, but my oh my I was very pleased with what I heard. Their distinct punk spirit with their grungy/garage rock sound was music to my ears and they immediately endeared themselves to me. Their lead-singer is remarkably charismatic and has a fantastic voice even at her most primal scream. Their “Heavy Heavy” visual is nothing short of wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone who fancies punk rock. Watch “Heavy … Continue reading You need to see Pom Pom Squad’s badass video for “Heavy Heavy” | #Music

The Golden Dregs return with a new blues jam | #Music

South London-based group The Golden Dregs recently played upon the classic sounds and sentiments of Mississippi blues with their track “Clarksdale, MS” that is in every convention a classic blues jam. I have been very pleased with their recent output that has contained two wonderful music videos, my favorite being “The Queen of Clubs.” Their laid-back and melancholic sonic makeup is a perfect match for the blues and their deep-voiced frontman Benjamin Woods’ vocals on this track were pure velvet. South London rapper Youngs Teflon is the latest artist to appear in Mixtape Madness‘ Mad About Bars segment, following Sam Wise and BlazeYL who spit their bars alongside Kenny Allstar last week. Youngs Tef is gifted in both the delivery and lyricism departments and he paints vivid street pictures and vignettes of success. This is one of my favorite Mad About Bars freestyles lately and Tef is obviously one of the most talented rappers in the game. Keep an eye on Youngs Teflon because I am sure he is going to make the jump from being a respected UK artist … Continue reading Youngs Teflon shows out in his Mad About Bars appearance | #Music

Remy impresses with his phenomenal visual for “LA Boyfriends” | #Music

New York artist remy has a fantastic new visual centering around one absolutely essential question: “What’s up with all these girls with LA boyfriends?” And this inquiry is the backbone to the chorus in remy’s new and aptly titled track “LA Boyfriends” that immediately caught both my eyes and ears. Aesthetically the visual is warm and shows remy’s charisma and introspection while also giving us a beautiful look at the New York skyline. Remy’s vocals on the song are impressive and he shows a variety of pitches and deliveries that keep his output interesting and non-repetitive. I really like this and … Continue reading Remy impresses with his phenomenal visual for “LA Boyfriends” | #Music
