AJ Bray’s “2 Cell Phones” is one of the best visuals I have seen all week | #Music

AJ Bray surged onto my radar this week with the release of his “2 Cell Phones” video and oh my lord, this shit is fucking phenomenal. His charisma is undeniable and he has bars for days, but not the type of bars that put you to sleep. He keeps you entertained with the lighthearted subject-matter and smooth delivery. The hook of this track is magnetic and I have not one complaint about “2 Cell Phones.” And oh, by the way, the visuals are magnificent, switching between high-quality shots and VHS footage with vibrant colors, all directed and edited by DONTHYPEME. … Continue reading AJ Bray’s “2 Cell Phones” is one of the best visuals I have seen all week | #Music

Nashville artist Reaux Marquez makes a statement with his visual for “Pass Go” | #Music

It is always frustrating as a writer to hear about an artist from your city making waves that you did not know about and this is exactly the case for me and Nashville rapper Reaux Marquez and his incredible new visuals for his track “Pass Go.” This track, truly, is fantastic and between the head-knocking instrumental and his endless bars, Reaux has certainly made a distinct statement here. The visuals take place in the heart of Nashville and are obviously aesthetically inspired by the Black Panther movement, which is fitting given that Nashville was one of the main outposts of … Continue reading Nashville artist Reaux Marquez makes a statement with his visual for “Pass Go” | #Music

ihateyouALX’s mixtape “Corazon” is one to remember from the young artist | #Music

LA-based artist ihateyouALX was a standout submission in our inbox recently and we already are big fans after hearing his project Corazon that gives several intimate vignettes of the youthful talent’s life. His tracks are breezy and laid-back and instrumentally he blurs the lines of alternative-pop and hip-hop and this blend of head-knocking percussion and smooth strings and synths set the ideal backdrop for ALX to shine. He has a sweet singing voice and bars that don’t overwhelm you with wordiness, but his intentions are always clear and verses are concise. Features come from Lil Ugly Jit, KB Devaughn (whose guest appearance … Continue reading ihateyouALX’s mixtape “Corazon” is one to remember from the young artist | #Music

Danger Incorporated blurs the lines of hip-hop, 90s grunge and 80s synth-wave | #Music

Atlanta creative duo Danger Incorporated return with the release of their new single and music video via Awful Records/RCA Records. This is the next evolution of Danger Incorporated, made up of Louie Duffelbags and Boothlord. The duo found harmony in contrasting soundscapes, bouncing between Louie Duffelbags’ smooth vocals and Boothlord’s raspy flair while acoustic guitars go up against gritty synth lines and heavy drum pads. It’s gloomy, spacey and very much embodies the left-of-center spirit of Awful Records. “Wassup Phonies” marks the first release since the duo’s 2018 Danger Reality EP, which featured singles, ‘Casting Spells’ and ‘Superstars.’ It marks the next wave for the Atlanta creatives, unveiling their latest vision with hints of … Continue reading Danger Incorporated blurs the lines of hip-hop, 90s grunge and 80s synth-wave | #Music
