Medhane is currently one of my favorite lyricists and I certainly cannot ignore how similar he is to Earl Sweatshirt. Atmospheric and lucid, Medhane has a hallmark cadence he takes up in a good amount of his tracks and this new music video, “WHISPERS / WALK WITH ME” is certainly no exception. Holyrain is a gem within the underground Atlanta scene. Not even in his 20’s, the recording artist and producer has amassed a disciplined approach to music by working in all kinds of genres. His latest effort, a 4 track extended play titled 333, is awash with promise. It is now streaming everywhere on Holy Records / Heartbox LLC. Listening to this artist reminds me of when I first heard Pharrell’s solo efforts. The Pharrell influence is certainly present, but there remains an originality to the music as well.
