Elle Charms‘ track “Lie with Me” was my introduction to the twenty-two-year-old pop singer from a rural part of Southeast England, and I am already impressed by her powerfully gratifying vocals and broad range. The “Lie with Me” production is grand and danceable, fitting many of the standard pop-instruemntal conventions. Hailing from the Greater Atlanta area, Teddy Swims is a singer with an absolutely marvelous voice and his newest track “Night Off” is a must listen. The instrumental is mellow and driven by an electric guitar riff matched by upbeat percussion that set the stage nicely for Swims’ vocal performance to sparkle. The writing of this track is also solid and Teddy pours his heart out in his words really nicely blends storytelling with a traditional pop song structure. Little Rock rapper Goon Des Garcons has been one of my favorite artists for some time now and it seems like only a matter of time until he takes a major leap into America’s mainstream consciousness. Atlanta artist Liamette and Jake Davidson’s latest creation “Heaven on Earth” is one of my favorite tracks of late and the cosmic melodies and synthy production make for one of the most sanguine and fun instrumentals possible. I had never previously heard any of Jake Davidson’s music, but after this song alone I am very pleased with his absolutely delightful vocals and am eager to see what he has up his sleeve next.
