Derby, England singer-songwriter Emzae sifts through “the song with the synth that sounds like an inkjet printer” with a bit more tempo than her fans are used to. The good news is that it works: Emzae sounds just as good when the pace is a little faster. The hook on the new release is sure to have your head nodding in rhythm. The song is a largely aspirational anthem, intertwining self-aware lyricism with thumping, electronic pop. Emzae says “many of the lyrics were written during town centre lunch breaks on humid, overcast days in late summer.”
