Charlotte rapper Cheeno Ghee was a recent standout in the ELEVATOR submissions inbox with her bar-packed track “Off Tha Strength.” The instrumental is powered by a piano melody with head-knocking percussion to pair, and this classic boom-bap pattern set up for Ghee to obliterate the beat, and that she did. Her lyrics are solid and range from topics like culture to politics and she discusses all of this with a distinct flair. I really enjoyed this and hope to hear more from Cheeno Ghee in the future.
