Yesterday I was lucky enough to stumble upon LAYNE and quickly she endeared herself to me with her fantastic visual for her track “Money Money Money.” For starters, the visual accompaniment for this song is fantastic and LAYNE oozes star-power. Sonically this sits firmly in the electro-pop vain and the production is boundary-pushing for the genre, as it features an avant-garde dance breakdown that bleeds nicely back into the powerful chorus. I was not familiar with July Jones before stumbling upon this decidedly odd visual for her exciting pop track “LIAR LIAR” that is literally born to fall right onto top-40 radio. The song features a magnetic chorus that is sure to stick in your head all day long and it is paired with an energy-packed visual that will make you quickly fall in love with this talent. U.K. based pop artist Emzae recently burst onto my radar with her release of her lo-fi visual for her track “As This Day Fades to Another,” and I am already enamored with the young talent. This visual shows Emzae’s magnetic and bubbly charisma alongside her vocal talent that are the perfect blend to set the stage for this absurdly fun ride. Kevin Holliday landed in the ELEVATOR pages for the first time a couple of months back with his single “Always On,” and since he released his aptly titled track “Hot and Fun,” but he takes a decisive turn in atmosphere with his much more mellow track “Let Me Go.” The track is funky and enjoyable from start to finish with a very unique and unexpected string passage following the hook. Fresh off his Growing Pains EP, singer-songwriter Evan Michael Green delivers visuals for his latest effort, “Good Chick.” The track is a standout cut from his August release, directed by Meg Bee. “These bitches got me tripping, it’s embarrassing / Caught up in the I can’t pretend,” Evan sings. Rapper Coach Joey stands on the forefronts of Detroit’s rap scene. Recently, Joey released a collaborative mixtape with some of the hottest names in D-town. Guest appearances include but are not limited to IceWear Vezzo, 42 Dugg, and Peezy, who is incarcerated at the moment.
