Houston artist Miquo is back with a vengeance on his latest collab with Rick Owens Samauri, “BODYBAG.” The track is an uptempo banger produced by Scorpio Beats. Miquo and Samurai channel their inner Three Six Mafia moshpit feels and turn the booth into the morgue. They recently teased a collaboration project coming soon including Houston-native Hogany. The Texas area has been shaking up the industry as of lately with acts such as Megan The Stallion and Maxo Kream. It’s only a matter of time before the city becomes another music capital! Check out the song below. Continue reading Rick Owens Samauri & Miquo deliver a “bodybag” full of bars | #Music
This is the first visual to drop since the EXILE EP premiered a few weeks ago. Mike G brings the song to life incorporated in a classic [hip-hop] style video, embossed with the Mike G x EXILE imprint. The video gives a scenic view of beautiful Los Angeles while flowing through flirty scenes between Mike (who is dripped out in the Exile Collection by Stealth Fighter) and “his love interest” as they fall in love, and embrace their relationship together. Brooklyn’s Medhane recently recruited surging North Carolina artist Mavi for a new collaborative single titled “facta.” Medhane opens the track with a verse that he attacks with his calm disposition combined with his natural lyrical fortitude and sets up perfectly for Mavi to pick up right where he leaves off. Mavi comes on the track like a bat-out-of-hell, rapping his ass off from the moment his voice presents itself on the recording. The complicated rhyme-schemes and wordplay that Mavi brings to every track is jaw-dropping and is exactly why he is attracting so much attention in the underground. While both … Continue reading Medhane and Mavi come together for some lyrical gymnastics on their newest song “facta” | #Music
Warm Brew is a trio of rappers based in Los Angeles, California. The three artists connected during their time at Santa Monica High School over a mutual love for rap. Their new single “Fame” is produced by Big Jerm and Jay Card. The song is classic Big Jerm production accented by Warm Brew and their pointed social and political wordplay. Maryland rapper Black Fortune has been red hot recently, releasing a string of incredible music videos and of all of the recent drops I think that “Rock Joint” might be my favorite of the lot. “Rock Joint” is punk meets trap in its purest form, but rather than attempting to fain punk vocals Fortune approaches this with his standard flow, just with a bit more bravado and the product is amazing. In addition to the fashion that Black Fortune presents on this track, the form is just as wonderful. His lyrics are irreverent and absurd and this blend makes “Rock … Continue reading Black Fortune switches up his style for a punk-inspired new visual “Rock Joint” | #Music
London MC Jacques Fugee recently surfaced in the ELEVATOR submissions inbox and after just one listen to his track “Psych Out” I was immediately enamored with the youthful artist. First and foremost, the production on this record is fantastic and the beat is bolstered forward by a sample from Portishead’s “Wandering Star” and is spruced up by thumping percussion as well as darting cosmic synths that add an additional layer of texture. And while the instrumental is fabulous, do not in any way begin to discount the rapping ability of Fugee. His deep voice matches well with the production and … Continue reading Jacques Fugee has an incredibly hard new video for his head-knocking track “Psych Out” | #Music
Lil NZA has been one of my favorites on the rise out of NYC over the past few months as I have previously covered his exciting music video to, “HiGHBEAMZ”. He has recently just unveiled a new project titled, #THiZMYWORLD, and it is an energetic, 17 track album that brings all of the enthusiasm. The project includes features from Dee Aura, Zayah2x, Mike Black, Lil Capoo, Lil Sex, and the well-known BobbyNice. NZA’s presence on the track is unlike the majority of artists currently in NYC and that is why he stands out so much to me. His zippy and … Continue reading Lil NZA drops off a high octane project | #Music
